The continuing expansion of the M&S Simply Food brand will create dozens of new full and part time retail jobs in Norwich and Doncaster.

Longwater Retail Park in the Costessey area of Norwich will become home to the second M&S Simply Food store in the city, creating around 50 new retail jobs in the first half of next year.

Just last month, Marks & Spencer opened their first Simply Food outlet in Norwich at the Sweet Briar Retail Park. That store is twice the size of the M&S Simply Food which is set to be built at Longwater, and created 100 retail jobs for the city when it opened its doors on July 23rd.

As well having a presence on the high street and at retail parks, M&S have also made a success of opening branches of Simply Food at major transport hubs like airports, motorway services and railway stations.

Speaking about the new store opening at Longwater Retail Park, Steve Smy, M&S East Anglia’s head of region, said: “We’re excited to be opening a second Simply Food store in Norwich. Our first in Sweet Briar Retail Park has been extremely popular since its launch in July and our new store will make M&S even more accessible to shoppers in Norwich. Together, our two stores will bring the very best of M&S food to the city.”

Further north in Doncaster, M&S are to open another branch of Simply Food, in a move which will create a similar amount of retail jobs in the South Yorkshire town. Clothing retailer Next has also announced it will be a neighbour of M&S at Wheatley Retail Park and between them, the two leading brand names will advertise around 60 new jobs.

Other existing retailers at Doncaster’s Wheatley Retail Park include Argos, Asda, Boots, Jollyes, Matalan, Sports Direct and TK Maxx.
