Aston Martin To Steer 250 New Jobs In Warwickshire

Aston Martin, the luxury British sports car maker, has announced plans to advertise 250 new jobs in Warwickshire over the next few months as it spends £20 million on enhancing its manufacturing facilities in the county.

The new vacancies at Aston Martin will be suitable for graduates and other specialists interested in a career in the engineering, manufacturing and commercial areas of the car manufacturing business.

When completed next year, the extension to Aston Martin’s existing plant at Gaydon near Leamington Spa in Warwickshire will add a further 10,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space at the site.

Explaining the ambitions behind the expansion plans in Warwickshire, Hanno Kirner, chief financial officer of Aston Martin, said: “The investment in our Gaydon HQ forms part of our long-term strategy which is focused around being the number one British luxury sports car brand.”

Aston Martin Recruitment

The chief executive of Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, Louise Bennett, welcomed the Aston Martin announcement, saying that the investment by the car firm showed its commitment to helping secure the region’s reputation as a ‘powerhouse in the UK’s automotive, manufacturing and engineering industry.’

“Aston Martin’s multi-million pound plans to massively expand its facilities at Gaydon and create a significant number of jobs will help to drive economic growth across the region. Recruitment will now begin to fill these extra jobs which offer fantastic employment opportunities for those looking to work in the sector. Their ambition reflects the confidence felt in the UK’s improving economy and is a fantastic endorsement of the skills base and facilities we have in Coventry and Warwickshire,” said Ms Bennett.

This year, Aston Martin will recruit 12 apprentices and 14 graduates into the company fold. Both the apprenticeship scheme and the graduate programme at Aston Martin are highly competitive, with over 40 young people applying for a typical graduate or apprenticeship role within the company.
