400 Lancashire Jobs With New Chorley Asda

A new Asda supermarket will create over 400 full and part time Lancashire jobs when it opens its doors in Chorley.

The new Asda includes £1 million investment plans for the surrounding area, and the completed supermarket should be ready to open its tills in Chorley by the end of the year.

Recruitment for the 400 new jobs will get under way in a few months time and Asda have said that they are committed to offering many of the Lancashire vacancies to local people who have been out of work for an extended period.

Senior property communications manager at Asda, Philip Bartram, said that the company was pleased to be getting started on the project and mentioned that over 90 percent of local people were in favour of the new supermarket.

“As well as increasing choice and competition for local shoppers, this multi-million pound investment will deliver major regeneration to the Market Street area, along with the huge economic benefits of hundreds of salaries newly circulating in the area,” said Mr Bartram.

When Asda completes the Chorley development it will cover an area of over 4,000 square metres and will have over 400 parking spaces and a petrol station.
