Phones 4u, the mobile phone high street retailer, will open over 100 new outlets next year in a move which will create as many as 900 full or part time jobs in the UK.

The good news for students and young people is that a majority of the new jobs, which will be available up and down the country, will be earmarked for the 18 to 24 year old age group.

Speaking to the Daily Express city & business section, a source said that the strong sales performance at Phones 4u, which in turn is driving their expansion, is being fuelled by the UK public’s insatiable appetite for smartphones, tablets and the latest mobile technology.

“Phones 4u’s rate of growth is phenomenal and it shows no sign of letting up. Its management has held several meetings with property agents recently to ensure that it has extensive store coverage across the country,” said the source.

The new expansion at Phones 4u will see the number of stores they operate in the UK rise to levels of around 800. With the company keen to play a part in reducing youth unemployment, full and part time roles which could be available for young people at the new Phones 4u stores include telesales agents and sales consultants.

With an average of 8 or 9 jobs coming at each new Phones 4u outlet, the 900 positions to be filled next year will take the total number of employees at the firm to almost 7,000 staff.
