Over 100 new Sheffield jobs are set to be created at a Greene King pub restaurant in Beighton, a new McDonald’s in Handsworth and a Victoria’s Secret store at the Meadowhall Shopping Centre.

Work is already underway on the McDonald’s and Greene King ventures and the Victoria’s Secret lingerie store is expected to open in the next twelve months. Around 60 full or part time jobs will be created at the McDonald’s which is due to open in August. A further 60 or more Sheffield jobs will be advertised at the Greene King Farmhouse Inn before autumn this year.

Duncan Taylor, franchiser of the new McDonald’s restaurant said: “We are thrilled to be opening a new restaurant in Sheffield and as a result bring more than 65 new full and part-time jobs to the local area. We are now recruiting for staff. I am particularly looking for people from the Handsworth area to apply, so we can ensure we invest in the local area and people.”

Victoria’s Secret is hoping to expand its business this side of the pond, opening new outlets in Manchester and Leeds as well as the new store in Sheffield. The director of Meadowhall, Darren Pearce, added that Victoria’s Secret was just one of many new stores which are due to open at the Sheffield shopping centre in the next twelve months.
