Time is fast running out if you want to land yourself a student job at the London Olympic Games. Some deadline dates for jobs at London 2012 are already passing, and other deadline days are very fast approaching.

If you fancy a student job at the Olympic Games or the Paralympic Games at London 2012, then now is the time to act. If you don’t get your skates on, then you could well miss out on some of the best student jobs that are going to be around for a good few years.

Most temporary jobs which have been created by the world famous athletics event will run from 27 July to the 12 August for the Olympic Games – and between 29 August until 9 September for the Paralympic Games.

But most recruitment for the jobs that students can apply for will be completed long before those dates. Many companies who are recruiting for the Games have said that they will close applications for their jobs on April 21 – which doesn’t leave you much time at all!!

So why don’t you put your running shoes on now and make a sprint to apply for the Olympic jobs which are still going begging?

What sorts of jobs are available at the Games you ask?

Well, what sorts of jobs aren’t available? There are temporary jobs in hospitality, customer services, admin, bar jobs, waiting jobs, chefs, managers, porters, stewards. You name it, there’s probably a job vacancy for it at the London Olympics this year.

And the pay should be pretty good too. We’ve advertised jobs at the Games this year for well over £7 an hour.

Just think of the skills and qualities you could furnish your CV with after you’ve worked at the Games. All of the Olympic recruiters are looking for students and other people who can demonstrate good communication skills, team working abilities, customer service awareness and flexibility. How nice would proof that you’ve got all of those qualities look on your CV? Surely future employers would put high on their list if they can see you took a job at London 2012….
