Bentley To Drive 500 Cheshire Jobs At Crewe Luxury car manufacturer Bentley Motors will create up to 500 new full or part time Cheshire jobs after securing a £3 million funding boost from the government.

The new vacancies will open up at the car manufacturer’s factory base in Crewe in Cheshire East after the company has seen sales surge by over a third in the last year.

Around 4,000 staff are under the employ of Bentley Motors at the moment and the new funding will help to secure dozens of existing jobs in addition to creating the 500 new full and part time positions in Cheshire.

Chairman and chief executive of Bentley’s, Wolfgang Durheimer, said that the government funding would help his company is a couple of main areas: “First, it will help ensure that we have a skilled workforce we need to deliver our projects and remain globally competitive. Second, the research and development support enables us to work on a key engine development project that will help us expand in key markets.”

“Bentley has had a fantastic start to 2012 and our sales show that there is huge global demand for high-quality luxury automotive products manufactured in Crewe,” added Mr Durheimer.
