John Lewis To Boost Ranks With 50 New IT Jobs
John Lewis, the UK retailer of furniture, fashion, toys, homeware and electrics, has announced that it is looking to fill up to 50 new jobs in IT this year.

At present, John Lewis has an IT team of around 230 people, but they hope to swell their ranks of IT specialists by over 20 per cent to finish the year with closer to 280 IT staff.

John Lewis will be looking for new IT specialists to work as systems analysts, systems developers, project managers and business analysts to help them increase support across multiple channel customer service offerings.

John Lewis recently gave their website a major boost by optimising it for customers accessing the site via mobile phones. The mobile site led to a sales increase of over 40 per cent during the Christmas holidays at the end of 2011.
