TJ Hughes is offering 120 full and part time jobs this Christmas. Positions are available at all six of its UK stores in Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle, Widnes, Eastbourne and Glasgow.

The discount department store has a usual compliment of around 700 staff, but is to swell its ranks to cope with a predicated rush of customers over the Christmas holidays.

TJ Hughes’ Chief Executive Officer, Anil Juneja, said they were hoping to find people with exceptional customer service skills to fill these Christmas jobs and mentioned that some of the temporary roles could turn into permanent jobs at the Liverpool based company.

“TJ Hughes is famous for its friendly, helpful staff and the new recruits will share our enthusiasm for the revitalised brand. Since reopening in September, we’ve seen a fantastic boost in sales in all of our stores. This recruitment drive will ensure that we have the staff to cope with the predicted footfall increase over the festive season and we’re hoping to offer permanent roles to those who excel during this busy period,” said Mr Juneja.

It is thought that TJ Hughes could covert around a third of the Christmas jobs on offer into permanent positions within the company.
