18,000 Christmas Jobs Posted At Royal Mail Anyone looking to find a holiday job over the Christmas break will be happy to hear that Royal Mail is yet again adding thousands of jobs over their busy festive period.

There is always a seasonal rush as the Royal Mail tries to handle more letters and parcels during the holidays. This year, they say they will be advertising 18,000 temporary jobs which will run from early November right through until the beginning of January.

Mark Higson, managing director of operations and modernisation, at Royal Mail explained just why they need so many extra staff at Christmas:

“Christmas is the busiest time of the year for Royal Mail and we plan all year round to help ensure we deliver the best possible service to our customers. On peak days, the volume of cards, letters and packets we handle is around double the 62 million items we deal with on an average day,” said Mr Higson.

In total, over the Christmas holidays, the Royal Mail will see close to two billion letters, cards and packages pass through the hands of employees.

Our advice if you are interested in these Christmas jobs at Royal Mail is to get in early. Over 70,000 people applied for the Royal Mail temporary jobs last year and demand is expected to be the same this Christmas.
