KPMG Offers Graduate Finance Jobs To School Leavers

16 Jan 2011

KPMG Offers Graduate Finance Jobs To School Leavers KPMG, the audit, tax and professional services firm, has started a very interesting scheme which will offer graduate finance jobs to college students and fund their way through university.

At the end of last week, KPMG said they would start the scheme by offering places to 75 students on a six year basis. The company will pay for the students to attend Durham University for four years, during which time they will split their time between study and work. All fees and accommodation costs while at the Durham Business School will be paid by KPMG.

Those students who go on to work for KPMG in a graduate finance job in London will start out on £20,000 but could potentially earn up to £45,000 by the sixth year.

The scheme is being partnered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and, if successful, could be expanded to help up to 400 students each year.

Oliver Tant of KPMG said the scheme “is offering us the impetus to fundamentally change how, and where, we get our best talent from. In the coming years, it is likely that we will see a seismic shift in how we recruit graduates, and we fully expect the number of traditional university graduate recruits to reduce and the number of school or college leavers to increase.”

To be eligible for the KPMG finance jobs in London and other parts of the UK, students will need at least an A and 2 Bs in their A level results.
