16,000 Full & Part Time Tesco Jobs In 2010

14 Oct 2010

16,000 Full & Part Time Tesco Jobs In 2010 Tesco are forecasting they will have created around 16,000 full and part time jobs this year in the 14 countries where the supermarket giant has a presence. It is thought that in the region of 9,000 of those Tesco jobs will be UK vacancies.

The thousands of new full and part time vacancies in the United Kingdom are opening up as Tesco invest in new stores, distribution hubs and call centres. Further Tesco jobs will be created with the expansion of Tesco Bank – the finance wing of the supermarket group.

Tesco have close to 5,000 stores worldwide and are increasing their ranks of loyal customers with their Clubcard scheme. There are now over 35 million Clubcard holders internationally and around 16.5 million of those are in the United Kingdom. Such customer loyalty has helped the company post 5.9 per cent sales growth in the UK with a 5.5 per cent growth in trading profit. With that sort of growth it is small wonder that so many new full and part time Tesco jobs are being created at the moment.

In a press release Tesco said: "We will be investing £1.6bn of capital in the UK economy this year, as planned, and will create thousands of jobs. We are dedicated to creating good jobs wherever we are and are on track to create 16,000 new jobs this year, including 9,000 in the UK. This financial year, we will open six Regeneration Partnerships and create at least 600 jobs for people who have been long-term unemployed in the UK."

We regularly advertise full and part time jobs from lots of the big supermarkets, grocers and retailers – and Tesco are no exception. Apply for Team Position jobs at Tesco through the E4S website now!
