FDM Group, the IT services firm, will this year attempt to fill 500 graduate IT jobs and claims it will become the biggest employer of IT graduates in the UK.

Last year, FDM hired just 245 graduates so the intake of 500 this year represents a significant job growth increase. FDM say these figures are two and a half times those of IBM and 25 times larger than Microsoft in the UK.

The IT company now employs almost 1000 graduates in the UK. The 500 new graduate IT recruits will embark on the award winning FDM Master-Class Programme which will give them a good grounding in IT in the commercial world. Once through the Academy, the graduates will be professional IT consultants and could go on to advise clients such as HSBC and Credit Suisse.

Rod Flavell of FDM, spoke of the success and growth of the IT company: “FDM experienced a year of growth and achievement in 2009, acquiring over 20 new clients, six prestigious awards and 245 trainees. This set us in good stead for 2010, which is proving to be another record year, winning ‘Training Department of the Year’ at the IT Training Awards.”
