Kia Introduces Graduate Job Scheme Kia, the South Korean car manufacturer, has formalised a graduate job and training scheme and is now looking for 5 people to fill graduate jobs before the end of the year.

Initially, the graduate jobs will be 1 year contracts where the trainees will learn general skills such as sales and marketing, logistics, accounts and will see how they apply specifically to the car industry.

Although the British car industry suffered badly during the recession, Kia has had a fantastic run of growth in the last year and a half. They now see the last three months of the year as the ideal time to try to fill the graduate job scheme places they have available.

Head of human resources at Kia in the UK, Gary Tomlinson, said: “At Kia we have a growing brand, a growing company and consequently growing opportunities both for our existing staff and for potential new recruits. We have decided that we will launch a specific 12 month training and employment programme for new graduates who want to work in a challenging and exciting environment with one of the motor industry’s rising stars.”

Tomlinson said that Kia were on the hunt for ambitious, talented graduates to build their careers with the successful car company. Other skills that Tomlinson valued in the people they expect to fill the graduate jobs include teamwork and the ability to pick things up quickly.
