1,000 New Green Energy Jobs In Glasgow By 2015 If you are looking for graduate engineering jobs in Glasgow or are studying for a degree in renewable energy or engineering at the moment, then a new partnership between energy firm Scottish and Southern (SSE) and Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries will be music to your ears.

Around 100 engineering jobs will be created immediately at the SSE centre in Glasgow’s Strathclyde University. It is also hoped that a further 900 green jobs or engineering positions could open up within the next five years due to the partnership.

Hopefully, many of the new hi-tech positions that will be created by the SSE/Mitsubishi co-operation will provide more graduate engineering jobs in Glasgow.

The two companies will work together, sharing information, technology and resources to develop special low carbon methods of producing energy. Typical examples of where energy renewal could be improved by the partnership include carbon capture, powerful offshore wind farms in deep water and a smart grid to further facilitate the recharging of electric vehicles.

Leader of the Scottish Nationalist Party and First Minister of Scotland, Alex Salmond, said: "I am very pleased to welcome this exciting new partnership between Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, an industrial giant with historic links to Scotland, and Scottish and Southern Energy, the largest generator of renewable electricity in these islands."

E4S are always on the lookout for new renewable energy and graduate engineering opportunities in Glasgow. As soon as we are notified of new openings for engineers in Glasgow we put them up on our graduate engineering jobs in Glasgow page.
