Seaside Tourism Offers Thousands Of Blackpool Jobs Any students thinking about part time jobs or summer work should think about seaside tourism jobs in Blackpool after a new report shows the town employs 19,000 people in the industry.

In England and Wales as a whole the seaside tourism industry employs over 200 thousand people in full or part time jobs across 121 coastal resorts. In addition to those impressive numbers the report by Sheffield Hallam University also pointed out that through the supply chain there are actually many more people in employment due to the resorts.

It was great news for Blackpool though as the report revealed that the town provided the biggest single concentration of seaside tourist jobs in England and Wales. Fantastic news for anyone currently looking for Blackpool jobs.

A further 57 towns were also shown to have at least one thousand people employed in full or part time jobs in the seaside tourism sector. In Wales alone 20,000 people are working in the industry.

Across the whole of Britain the seaside tourism industry adds over three and a half million pounds to the economy. It has borne out the recession and if anything seems to be growing again due to so-called ‘staycations’ where British people are holidaying at home.
