Admiral Insurance, the car insurance specialist, will have created 750 new full or part time jobs in Cardiff, Swansea and Newport this year. Almost 500 new positions have been created so far in 2010 and the company expects to add around another 250 new jobs in Wales by the end of June.

Admiral Insurance, a FTSE 100 company, employs 3,000 people in Wales but is looking to hire more people into full or part time positions in sales, customer services, renewals and claims positions. A further 800 staff are employed by Admiral elsewhere in the UK.

Admiral has enjoyed relatively good times throughout the recent recession, largely because car insurance is compulsory so they haven’t been affected as much as many other industries and sectors.

Ceri Assiratti, a people services manager at Admiral, said they felt lucky to be able to recruit in such numbers at the moment. Assiratti added that, "The calibre of candidates coming through is very good, so much so that if we've reached capacity in one department, we'll invite those people back for an interview with another department that has openings."
