Get Practical Skills To Get A Graduate Job Say HSBC

12 Apr 2010

Get Practical Skills To Get A Graduate Job Say HSBC HSBC, the financial giant, has urged graduates to make sure they are fully equipped for the world of graduate work by getting some practical skills to compliment their academic achievements.

Speaking to the Recruiter a spokesperson for HSBC said: “From a graduate perspective, it’s about employability. Academic qualifications are the ticket to the game, but to play, the successful graduate needs to have some practical skills, the confidence to speak out when required and a fit with the organisational values.”

This highlights the importance of securing an internship or getting some other form of work experience during your time at college or university to make yourself much more employable. Taking on part time work while you are studying is a great way to fill out a CV and show the big employers that you are a serious graduate.

It is certainly worth taking the words from the HSBC seriously as they are regular fixture in various Top 100 lists of employers.

You can find out more about graduate jobs with the HSBC on their Graduate Recruitment website. You will also find hundreds of graduate job opportunities on the e4s graduate job search pages. And, if you are still at college or university and want to gain some work experience to make you stand out from the pack, then also take a look at our internship and part time jobs pages too.
