TUI To Launch Graduate Job Scheme

10 Feb 2010

TUI To Launch Graduate Job Scheme TUI UK & Ireland, which is the parent company of travel companies First Choice and Thomson, will launch their new graduate job scheme in October this year.

It will become the first graduate scheme since the First Choice and Thomson brands came under the TUI umbrella in 2007. The scheme will initially have ten graduate positions as part of the programme and the successful recruits will receive training in the whole spectrum of the travel industry. Over the course of the 15 month training scheme, the graduates will work in various areas such as marketing, e-commerce, retail and distribution. They will also gain experience in their new graduate job position of the fundamental elements of the travel and tourism business – like airline travel and cruise holidays.

The company’s commercial director David Burling described how he began his career as a graduate with Thomson 20 years ago and spoke of the value of gaining a good grounding in all the various aspects of the travel business.

The head of HR services at TUI UK & Ireland, Sue Chatfield, said of the new graduate job scheme: "This programme brings something unique to the graduate job market. It's a leadership programme, where the graduates will get solid business experience, but in the travel sector rather than in finance or law. The travel industry is fast paced and exciting, and by rotating around different areas of the business both in the UK and overseas the graduates will be able to experience that."

We are constantly updating the graduate job section of the E4S website with the very latest opportunities in the travel and tourism sector. You’ll also find graduate vacancies across many other sectors if you search our graduate job database.
