28 Oct 2009

Mercedes-Benz Increases Graduate Job Intake Mercedes-Benz, the giant of the automotive industry (and maker of an engine for a certain Jensen Button who you may have heard of) has increased its number of graduate jobs this year.

Over 600 applicants were finally whittled down to five successful graduates who will now complete the company’s one and a half year graduate job development programme.

The five graduates will spread their training between the group’s various companies such as Mercedes-Benz UK itself and also Mercedes-Benz Retail Group UK and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services UK.

Also, Mercedes-Benz UK has recently secured extra funding of just short of £1 million from the government to take an additional 180 young people into their Apprentice Training Programme based at Denbigh in Milton Keynes.

The president and CEO of the company, Wilfried Steffen, commented on both the graduate jobs and the apprentice programmes by saying that: “It is vital that we continue to invest in the future of our products and brand by ensuring that we have the right calibre of staff on board – in all areas of our business – to meet and indeed exceed the expectations of our customers.”

Mr Steffen said that maintaining a motivated, professional staff through investment in such schemes was the key to Mercedes-Benz UK’s future plans to help them sustain their drive for a “world-class customer service.”
