Great News For London Graduate Finance Job Market

22 Sep 2009

Great News For London Graduate Finance Job Market Anyone will looking for graduate finance jobs in London will be glad to hear what recruitment company Morgan McKinley said last week about the general finance sector in the capital.

The firm reported that the number of new job vacancies in London’s finance sector increased by 18% between July and August. That is the biggest monthly rise in new finance jobs this year.

Although the actual number of finance jobs on the market was still down just short of 40% on last year, there is also further encouragement to be taken from the fact that the normal trend is for the number of vacancies to fall in the summer months.

The average salary for a finance job in London has also increased slightly in the last year rising 0.3% to just over £50,000.

The upbeat news comes at a time when optimism is returning to stock markets round the world with banks also regaining some lost buoyancy in recent weeks.

The managing director of Morgan McKinley's financial services division, Andrew Evans, said that there had been an ‘an obvious progression in terms of confidence levels within the City hiring market.’ Evans added on an optimistic note that, "This increased commitment to hire coupled with positive results from the FTSE recently and an improving outlook will hopefully drive the continuation of encouraging jobs figures into the month of September."

So, if the news from Morgan McKinley has restored a little bit of your confidence in the market for graduate finance jobs in London then have a look at the vacancies we’ve currently got on the site.
