Those of you hoping to land graduate engineering jobs in London and elsewhere after university will find encouragement from renewable energy company ENER-G. The firm, which utilises clean technology, has launched a new recruitment drive to fill graduate engineering jobs and train people in green skills like environmental management and technology.

ENER-G, based in the north-west town of Salford, employs over 700 people in the UK, Poland, Lithuania, Norway, Hungary and the Netherlands. They also run joint ventures in Spain, Mexico and South Africa.

Derek Duffill, ENER-G’s managing director, said that, “High calibre engineers are at a premium and we believe the environmental technology sector will continue to generate explosive growth for many years to come. It offers the long-term career goals and financial rewards that ambitious engineers are looking for. Crucially, it also gives them an opportunity to design, develop, manufacture and operate the technologies that can make such a positive difference to society on a global level.”

Although ENER-G already employs some graduate engineers in their business this looks like a more strategic and comprehensive graduate engineering jobs recruitment process going forward.

Duffill said that the aim of the recruitment programme was to bring jobs to engineering graduates – and indeed other graduate with the right skills – to introduce innovative ideas to ENER-G and also to provide future senior managerial and technical staff for the future. He added that the graduate programme would make a vital contribution to ENER-G’s growth plans by increasing their stock of talented people and ‘enabling them to meet their constantly expanding business needs’.

It is forecast that the green sector of the UK economy will be one of only a handful of sectors which will continue to grow during the current recession.
