Graduate programmes to get ratings

21 Nov 2008

Graduate programmes to get ratings Employers offering graduate jobs in London will soon be able to see how effective their graduate schemes are, it has been claimed.

A new initiative set to be launched by Graduate Prospects will use a new ratings method and give graduate employers an accurate description of how they are performing in their industry sector and the wider British economy.

The analysis tool called Real Prospects 2009 has been developed in conjunction with the Association of Graduate Recruiters and the Guardian and will be the first of its kind to gauge graduates responses on their company's recruitment, training and career development opportunities while they are in employment.

Mike Hill, chief executive of Graduate Prospects said: “We are not looking to produce a ranked league table."

"Our aim is to inform the development of benchmarked industry standards, enabling employers to promote best practice," he added.

The Times already ranks the top 100 graduate employers in the country and compiles its research from more than 15,000 interviews with university leavers.

Earlier this month, PricewaterhouseCoopers was named the UK's top graduate employer by the paper for the fifth year in a row.
