Students compete in hair challenge

04 Apr 2007

Students compete in hair challenge Students in north Devon were given the chance to display their talents at hairdressing at the Hair Academy in Roundswell, according to reports.

As part of the North Devon College, the training department hosted its first hairdressing competition with judges from local salons and sponsors.

Award categories included Evening and Bridal, Colour and Finish and West End and Planet Earth. Prizes were donated from event sponsors Schwarzkopf and Aston and Fincher.

Claire Palmer and Karen Cocker, the competition's organisers, spent about three months making sure the event came together.

Ms Palmer, the hairdressing team leader at the college, told the North Devon Gazette: "We wanted to create a platform to help our students realise their true potential and be able to showcase their talents.

"Our students work to a really high standard, day in and day out, so this was a great opportunity for their work to be recognised by a wider audience."
