"Student heaven" promised on a very different type of cruise Not sure how to use your degree to actually make some money? Take inspiration from two recent business graduates, who've decided to set up a very different sort of cruise company, offering trips specifically for students.

Ian Bishop and David Blyth - recent graduates of the University of Bath’s School of Management and creators of "The Student Cruise" - say that their package will provide the ultimate student experience, with overnight voyages packed with entertainment.

The business partners have chartered two cruise ships for up to 2,800 students. The first trips, costing from £70 per person, will be to St Malo in France and Amsterdam in Holland. Cruise life will include clubbing zones, casinos, speed-dating, on-board shopping, stand-up comedy, cinemas and 24 hour bars.

Mr Blyth emphasises: "This isn't just going to be a student night with a few beers, we want to create an experience from the moment they board the ship - a kind of student heaven really."

The pair came up with the idea while at university. Blyth says "we wanted the challenge of starting up our own business and The Student Cruise fits our expertise and aspirations… it combines our skills in event management and PR".

Hundreds of students have already expressed interest in the trips, the first of their kind in the UK.

It seems like finding a gap in the market really can get your career off to a flying start.
