Google is employees' top choice, research suggests

04 May 2007

Google is employees' top choice, research suggests MBA students would rather work for Google than anyone else, according to a recent survey.

US-based research firm Universum found that the internet company came top of the list of the most desirable places to work.

Students ranked their choice of ideal employers and answered questions about their career expectations, including their choice of office locations, salary expectations and best internships.

Claudia Tattanelli, chief executive officer at Universum, told Bloomberg: "It's literally the dream company for any MBA.

"It's a great reference to say, 'I worked at Google'.''

The company has shot up the rankings, from 129th place in 2005, to second in 2006 and top spot this year. Google's rival, Yahoo, was ranked 22nd.

The perks of working for Google include free meals, massages and the ability to work on a project of your choice for part of the time.

It's a good time to try and get a job with the company too - Google is benefiting from the rapid expansion of online advertising and has almost doubled its workforce in the last year.
