Dreading those graduate job interviews? One jobseeker has come up with a novel way of overcoming interview nerves - by sending employers a video profile of himself before he gets through their door.
As Onrec.com reports, Jon Glas' shyness meant he always let himself down in job interviews. He said: "Every job interview I went to filled me with dread. My hands would go clammy and I couldnt get out what I wanted to say.
"I dread to think about how many jobs I missed out on because my shyness meant I came across badly in the interview."
On securing an interview for a carpet sales position, Mr Glas decided to send the company a video so they could see the "real" him. The video impressed his potential employers and he got the job.
Mr Glas has now turned his initial dread of interviews into a business venture, starting a video recruitment website, Jobs2view, to help others overcome their nerves.
He explained: "I thought about how many people must be in the same situation as I was - perfectly able to do the job but just not able to get it across in the interview.
"The site
means you can get across what you want to say without the panel of people sitting in front of you."
