Field Service Engineer – Home Counties


We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role will be primarily based in the Home Counties and surrounding regions, supporting racecourses including Newbury, Windsor, Goodwood, Bath, Salisbury and Taunton. Travel to other parts of the UK will be required depending on business needs.


Role Overview


The successful candidate will support the Engineering team in delivering on-course technical services, including hardware deployment, system setup, infrastructure testing, and live event support.


Key Responsibilities


  • Assist with the movement, setup, and configuration of on-course hardware.
  • Install software and provide on-site technical support during race fixtures.
  • Test racecourse infrastructure, including network communications and Wi-Fi.
  • Report faults and incidents to the Britbet Network Operations Centre (NOC).
  • Support the deployment and movement of Android POS systems for race fixtures.
  • Attend regular meetings and calls to discuss workload, delivery timelines, and objectives.
  • Provide clear and regular progress updates to management, highlighting risks or obstacles.
  • Liaise with racecourse staff to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Provide engineering support cover during live racecourse fixtures.
  • Health & Safety - you will be expected to ensure that you, and those you are responsible for, always comply with Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices in line with current legislation and the Company’s Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • This role profile is a guide to the work you will be required to undertake. You must be flexible and may be required to carry out additional duties as directed by your manager. This description does not form part of your contract of employment.


Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence.


Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Basic networking and Wi-Fi knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of Android tablets.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 applications.
