What Sort Of Events Jobs Are Good For Students?

ALL events jobs can be good for students!

Working at an event is one of the most enjoyable ways to make money as a student - and we can help you find some great opportunities.

Whether it is stewarding at sports events, catering at summer festivals or serving at VIP parties and film festivals, there are thousands of opportunities for students out there. Events jobs exist at hotels, theme parks, country clubs and music festivals. You can find events jobs in the corporate sector or at non-profit organisations. When you start to think about it, there are opportunities to work at events almost everywhere you can think of.

You can have some great fun working at events at the same time as you are earning some decent money and building up a bit of work experience.

How Much Do Events Jobs Typically Pay?

As a general rule of thumb, you can expect to earn just above the minimum wage for a typical events job. Obviously that depends on the type of event you are working at, the size of the event and the company you are working for. Location can also have some impact on the sort of wage you can expect.

Is It Easy To Get An Events Job If You've Never Done It Before?

One of the great things about working at events is that it's possible to find a job even if you have no previous experience. Okay, you are not just going to walk into an events planning job if you have never worked in the sector before, but lots of entry level jobs exist at events where it is perfectly acceptable to learn the ropes as you go along.

If you apply for jobs without some previous background in events then make sure you let the employer know about things you may have organised outside of work. You must have organised a birthday party for a family member or friend. Or, what about the fancy dress night that you organised for your student mates? Tell them about how good you were at doing that!

Typical Events Job Tasks:

Will An Events Job Look Good On My CV:

Can Events Jobs Lead On To Other Things?

Of course! If you find that you love working at events then you can certainly make a career out of it. What starts out as a summer job in the holidays, or a part time job in the evenings can turn into a long term career opportunity.

While some people are happy to work in lower level events jobs for a long time, other people use the experience they have gained to become event planners or even start up their own events business.
