Warehouse Team Leader (Pick Team)

We have a great opportunity for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our Pick Team here in our Warehouse in Chessington.


35 Hours, Sunday to Thursday

Sun (11:00am-19:00pm) Mon (11:00am-19:00pm) Tues (11:00am-19:00pm) Weds (11:00am-19:00pm) Thurs (11:00am-19:00pm)

With some flexibility around team holidays and peak periods.



As the Warehouse Team Leader in the Pick Team, you will manage a team of Warehouse Team Members and Assistant Warehouse Team Leaders. You will work working alongside other Pick Team Leaders across a seven‑day, three‑shift operation.

Leading the late‑shift, you will be responsible for the overall workload on the shift, ensuring all end‑of‑day dispatch tasks and courier/store picks are completed accurately and on time. You will collaborate with the other Team Leaders to ensure full daily picks are completed and will monitor team performance to meet KPIs and service levels.

More about the role …

As a Warehouse Team Leader on the Pick Team you will:

  • Ensure store picks are completed accurately and to productivity targets
  • Lead and oversee all end‑of‑day picking, sorting and dispatch processes.
  • Organise deliveries with the Logistics team and couriers.
  • Work with Team Leaders across other shifts to ensure all daily picks are completed.
  • Release daily picks and allocate work to the picking team.
  • Generate end‑of‑shift reports and complete dispatch through the WMS.
  • Use courier booking systems to arrange collections.
  • Report progress, completion status and operational challenges to Warehouse Management.
  • Monitor team performance and address productivity or accuracy issues.
  • Create rosters and authorise holiday while maintaining sufficient cover.
  • Keep Core HR records updated, including timesheets and absence.
  • Ensure all team members follow Health & Safety procedures and safe‑working practices.
  • Conduct regular 1‑2‑1s, coaching and performance feedback.
  • Complete appraisals and progress chats with your team, sharing feedback and setting goals for improvement and development
  • Support with recruitment and manage the onboarding of new starters.
  • Conduct return‑to‑work meetings with your team after periods of absence.
  • Identify training needs within your team and liaise with Learning & Development to deliver relevant and robust training for your team.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly Team Leader meetings.

What we look for:

  • Previous experience using Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Familiar with handheld terminals (Windows CE & Android).
  • Proven experience leading and motivating a medium‑sized team
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and dispatch processes
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise under pressure.
  • Confident presenting or working with statistical data.
  • Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Physically active — role requires regular movement around the warehouse.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy and operational consistency.
