We’re looking for an experienced Systems Implementation Consultant to independently review proposed systems before contracts are signed and implementation begins.
This is a consultancy engagement rather than an employed role.

About The Ned and Ned’s Club
The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.
The Ned launched in 2017 in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. The Ned City of London houses Ned’s Club, a private members’ space, gym and rooftop, alongside a public spa, a full floor of events spaces, ten restaurants and bars and 248 hotel bedrooms.
Where you’ll be working
You’ll be based at The Ned City of London, located in the beautiful old Midland Bank. We expect a mixture of remote work and on-site meetings, workshops and document reviews. There may also be some travel to our international properties when needed. The exact working arrangements will be agreed as part of the consultancy engagement.
Working directly with the Group Managing Director, you will:
- Independently review proposed new systems before contracts are approved
- Review supplier proposals, contracts, statements of work, implementation plans, commercial schedules, assumptions and exclusions
- Test whether the proposed scope, timetable, supplier resources and responsibilities are clear and realistic
- Identify gaps, unclear commitments, likely additional costs and areas that need further legal or commercial review
- Assess the implications for our existing technology, data, integrations and internal resources
- Work with our legal advisers to make sure implementation and commercial concerns are properly reflected in the contracts
- Review the proposed HR/workforce management implementation, including the contracts, implementation scope, resource commitments, internal requirements and future costs
- Give ownership a clear recommendation on what must be resolved before signature and what can be addressed during mobilisation
- Provide a structured handover to the relevant project manager once a system has been approved
About the consultancy engagement
- A competitive consultancy fee or day rate, agreed according to experience and the final scope
- An agreed programme of work, deliverables and review points
- Direct access to senior leaders, system owners and the relevant suppliers
- The opportunity to influence several significant systems decisions across a growing international business
- Flexibility to complete document review and analysis remotely, with agreed on-site presence where it adds value
This is an independent consultancy engagement under a contract for services. It is not a permanent or fixed-term employment role and does not include employee pay or benefits. The appointed consultant or consultancy will be responsible for its own tax, National Insurance, insurance and other obligations arising from the engagement.
What you can bring to the engagement
- Significant experience reviewing complex technology proposals and implementation plans
- A background in systems consulting, technology assurance, procurement, programme review or client-side transformation
- Strong experience reviewing software contracts, statements of work, supplier proposals and commercial schedules
- A good understanding of cloud software implementation, data migration, integrations, testing and support arrangements
- The ability to identify unclear scope, weak assumptions, missing responsibilities and areas likely to create additional cost
- Experience working with legal advisers on technology contracts, without straying into formal legal advice
- Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of total implementation cost, rather than simply the headline supplier price
- Experience across several types of business system, rather than being limited to one product or specialism
- Experience reviewing HR, payroll or workforce management systems would be highly desirable
- Direct experience of Dayforce or a comparable enterprise HR and payroll system would be a strong advantage
- Confidence advising executive teams and ownership, particularly where a proposal is not ready to proceed
- The ability to turn complex contractual, technical and implementation issues into clear recommendations
At The Ned, we don't just celebrate our diversity, we challenge ourselves to do even better. The Ned is committed to being the best place to work, and ensuring that we have a leading diversity, equity and inclusion programme is central to making that vision a reality.
Please let us know of any specific needs you may have during your interview.
We welcome applications from independent consultants and consultancy firms. Any individual delivering the services must be legally entitled to provide services in the UK and able to travel where required.
