We’re looking for a Runner to join the team at The Parakeet.
Located in the heart of Kentish Town, The Parakeet is an independent public house and dining room. In the front, a lively neighbourhood pub. In the back, an award-winning dining room serving Basque-inspired small plates cooked over coal and fire. Led by chef Ben Allen, the kitchen has received critical acclaim from The Times, The Evening Standard, and more.
As a Runner, you’ll play an important role in keeping the dining room and kitchen working together. You’ll deliver food quickly and carefully, support the servers during busy service, and help maintain the pace and energy of the restaurant.
It’s a great role for someone who enjoys working in a busy restaurant and wants to learn more about food, service and hospitality.
What you’ll do
- Run food from the kitchen to the dining room quickly and accurately
- Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team to keep service flowing
- Support servers during busy periods
- Ensure dishes are delivered to the right table with confidence
- Help maintain cleanliness and organisation across the floor
- Learn the menu so you can answer basic guest questions when delivering food

What to Expect:
- Competitive Pay: £12.75 per hour plus tronc (total package usually in the range of £12.75- £14.00 per hour). Hourly wages paid every two weeks on a Friday and tronc paid on the last Friday of the month.
