Public Areas Cleaner
Clean public areas are easy to overlook. That’s the point.
We’re looking for a Public Areas Cleaner to join our housekeeping team and keep the hotel’s shared spaces clean, safe and ready for guests.
You’ll be responsible for the areas everyone sees—from the restaurants and bar to the toilets, entrances and outdoor spaces. You may also help prepare bedrooms when the housekeeping team needs additional support. The usual shift is 7am–2pm.
What you’ll be doing
- Cleaning and maintaining the hotel’s public areas
- Cleaning and regularly checking guest toilets
- Preparing the restaurants and bar areas for service
- Cleaning entrances, corridors, stairways and shared spaces
- Keeping indoor and outdoor guest areas clean and presentable
- Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and cleaning surfaces
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely
- Restocking toiletries and cleaning supplies
- Responding promptly to spills and other cleaning requirements
- Reporting damage, maintenance problems and potential safety risks
- Using cleaning products and equipment correctly
- Supporting the housekeeping team with bedrooms during busy periods
- Working with other departments to keep disruption to guests to a minimum
What we’re looking for
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is useful, but not essential
- Someone reliable who is ready to start at 7am
- Strong attention to detail
- A practical, hands-on approach
- The ability to work independently and manage priorities
- A friendly and professional manner around guests
- The physical ability to carry out an active cleaning role
- A willingness to work inside and outdoors
- Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays
- The right to work in the UK
