Our client, a leading organisation in power infrastructure, is hiring for a Principal Substation Primary (HV Plant) Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on diverse projects within the transmission and distribution sectors across the UK, supporting innovative energy solutions. What you'll be doing: * Lead FEED and detailed design workstreams for HV substations, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with client specifications. * Manage and mentor a team of engineers, supporting their development and performance. * Oversee design reviews, including layouts, earthing, interlocking schemes, and HV equipment specifications. * Coordinate project interfaces with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers for seamless delivery. * Act as tender manager for HV plant packages, reviewing technical offers and ensuring competitive submissions. * Engage with clients and stakeholders through meetings, site visits, and technical reviews. * Support business growth by maintaining strong client relationships and identifying new opportunities. What you'll bring: * Experience leading technical teams in primary plant design for substations. * Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Chartered Engineer or working towards it. * Proven expertise in HV plant design within the UK or internationally. * Skilled in preparing bids, cost estimates, and working with electrical standards (IEC, IEEE). * Effective communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities and travel when needed.
