Job Title: Post 16 SEN Teacher - with IT abilities
Location: Bankside College, Hanley Castle, WR8 0AD
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday - Friday | 8:30am - 4pm
Salary: £39,000 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: January 2027

About the Role
At our specialist Post-16 College, you'll work with young people who learn differently, helping them build confidence, independence and skills for adult life. We're looking for an inspiring SEN Teacher with a passion for IT, Computing, Digital Learning or Technology to create exciting learning experiences that engage, motivate and unlock potential.
Whether you're an experienced SEN Teacher, a Computing Teacher, an IT specialist with QTS, or a mainstream teacher ready for a more rewarding challenge, this is an opportunity to make a genuine difference every single day.
You'll help students discover strengths they may never have realised they had, celebrate achievements that others may have overlooked, and prepare them for a successful future beyond education.
What you will be doing
- Deliver engaging and personalised lessons that meet a range of learning needs.
- Use IT, technology and digital resources to enhance learning and student engagement.
- Create a positive, supportive classroom environment where students feel valued and safe.
- Adapt teaching approaches to help students overcome barriers and achieve success.
- Monitor progress, set meaningful targets and celebrate achievements.
- Develop and review individual learning plans and support strategies.
- Contribute to curriculum development and wider college improvement initiatives.
What you will bring
- QTS or equivalent required.
- A passion for supporting young people with additional needs to thrive.
- Strong classroom teaching experience, ideally with Post-16 learners.
- Experience, qualifications or a genuine interest in Computing, IT, Game Design, Digital Skills or Technology-based learning.
- Creative, adaptable and student-centred teaching practice.
- A patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and innovative teaching.
- Driving licence required

At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer.
