About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Payments Assistant to join our finance team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments, with a strong focus on employee expenses and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of payments, including cheques and same-day transactions
- Manage and process employee expense claims accurately and efficiently
- Maintain and update payment tracking systems
- Support regular financial reporting activities
- Conduct self-audits to ensure compliance with internal procedures and controls
- Assist with invoice processing and reconciliation
- Work extensively with Excel to manage data, track payments, and produce reports
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Experience in payment processing or a finance-related role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Understanding of basic accounting principles (desirable)
