Multi-Skilled Engineer Sittingbourne UK Rate £42k per annum
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in keeping the busy production environment running smoothly. Carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and technical support across a wide variety of plant, machinery, and site services.
This is a hands on role in a fast paced manufacturing environment where your expertise will directly minimise downtime and support efficient, safe, and reliable production.
What You Will Do
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure all machinery and site services remain safe, reliable, and efficient.
Diagnose faults quickly and effectively to minimise production downtime.
Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, ideas, and best practice within the Engineering team.
Support and achieve departmental KPIs and operational targets.
Maintain a positive, collaborative working environment.
Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures, and permit‑to‑work systems.Icandidate would have:
Recognised engineering apprenticeship, training or degree.
Electrical engineering qualification.
Experience with Siemens PLC software and programming.
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment, ideally food.
Strong mechanical problem solving skills.
Knowledge of current Health & Safety requirements.
Confident, proactive, with strong communication skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.
Good record-keeping skills.
High attention to detail.
Experience of SAP software would be beneficial, though not essential.What You Can Expect
42k per annum dependent on suitability, training and experience.
5% bonus scheme.
Core hours will be 40 hours per week. The team shares shifts to ensure the factory is staffed between 06:00 - 22:00.
