Market Interaction Lead

Entry Level

Dr. Martens is more than a brand - it’s a global icon with over 60 years of attitude, heritage, and cultural impact. We’re a thriving, values‑driven business powered by diverse thinkers, bold doers, and people who bring their whole selves to work. If you’re ready to make your mark, you’re in the right place.

At DM, our values guide everything we do: Be Yourself, Act Courageously, Show You Care. They’re not just words - they’re how we turn passion into progress.

WHERE YOU SIT

As our Market Interaction Lead, you’ll be part of the Marketplace & GTM team, working closely with brilliant people across the business and reporting into Head of Market Interaction. You’ll be right at the heart of fast‑moving projects that shape how we show up for our consumers - today and tomorrow.

WHERE YOU CONTRIBUTE

This is a global role, working across key markets and wholesale partners to bring consumer, commercial, and partner insight into product and go-to-market decisions.

You work closely with local teams and B2B partners to understand what is resonating with consumers and where the biggest opportunities exist - from product and pricing through to storytelling and activation - and translate this into clear recommendations that shape footwear and accessories product, range, and GTM plans.

Sitting at the intersection of product, merchandising, and commercial teams, you'll help ensure we build the right product, tell the right stories, and make the right decisions around the world.

You're not just coordinating the process - you're bringing a strong commercial and product point of view, helping the business make better decisions, earlier.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

As our Market Interaction Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Own relationships with key global markets and wholesale partners, building trusted partnerships and deep understanding of consumer behaviour, market dynamics, and local commercial needs.
  • Influence product and commercial decisions by providing clear market insights on range, pricing, positioning, and consumer demand, while driving alignment across Product, Merchandising, Design, Brand, Sales, Channels, and GTM teams.
  • Lead pre-line engagement and convert market, consumer, and partner feedback into actionable recommendations that shape range planning, GTM strategies, and upstream decision-making.
  • Ensure market readiness and successful execution by monitoring in-season performance, identifying risks and opportunities, resolving issues proactively, and keeping decisions focused on consumer impact and commercial outcomes.

KEY SKILLS & CAPABILITIES

Put simply, the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Strong commercial and product expertise, ideally gained within buying, merchandising, sales, wholesale, or a related function, with a solid understanding of range building, assortment planning, and category performance.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to build credibility across global markets, wholesale partners, and cross-functional teams, while confidently challenging product, pricing, and commercial decisions.
  • Deep understanding of the footwear, accessories, and broader consumer landscape, including market trends, consumer behaviour, product development, and the factors that drive both brand relevance and commercial success. Footwear experience is highly desirable.
  • Highly analytical and organised communicator, comfortable working across multiple global markets and proficient in PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to transform complex consumer, product, and commercial insights into clear, compelling, and actionable recommendations.
