Manufacturing Engineer - Welding

We are seeking a proactive and driven Manufacturing Engineer to support and enhance our welding operations across Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminium processes. This role will play a key part in improving production efficiency, driving automation initiatives, and maintaining high-quality standards across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day engineering support to weld production teams across multiple material streams.
Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the design and implementation of new jigs and fixtures.
Drive robotic welding projects from concept through to delivery, including research, business case development, and full implementation.
Continuously review and optimise manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with wider business systems and strategy.
Develop and implement quality assurance procedures, standards, and specifications to ensure consistency across operations.
Build strong cross-functional relationships to support collaboration and operational success.
Identify and implement best practices, both internally and externally, to enhance performance.
Promote a "right-first-time" culture, encouraging accountability and continuous improvement at all levels.
Support manufacturing teams in resolving production and quality issues using a structured, problem-solving approach.
Stay up to date with the latest manufacturing trends and technologies to drive innovation.
Provide technical support to production teams on engineering-related challenges.
Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) systems.
Adhere to company health and safety policies and maintain a safe, organised working environment.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years' experience within a manufacturing engineering environment.
Experience working within a welding environment is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of welding processes and industry best practices.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Experience with robotics in a production environment.
Familiarity with offline robot programming software (desirable).
Proficient in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks for jig and fixture design.
