Lead FOH Barista
About the Role
A Lead FOH Barista is a role-model team member and an ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about representing the “why” at Rosslyn. As Lead FOH Barista you will support drinks quality; hospitality standards such as ‘HUH’ & ‘P.A.C.E’; and the ongoing development of your team’s skills by delivering on-job training. This role will help support the shop’s leadership team in driving a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
You will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of our SOP’s and product knowledge such as origins, processes and suppliers, and help your team create memorable experiences for every guest who walks through our doors.
Key Responsibilities
Company Standards
- Maintain quality standards for all coffee and drinks served in your store, supporting the implementation and upholding of SOPs
- Conduct regular quality control checks and tastings throughout shifts
- Stay up-to-date with menu details, rotation of guest coffees, and the retail SOP and offering
- Uphold health & safety and HACCP requirements
Training and Knowledge Sharing
- Deliver structured training for barista team members using the templated training program provided by the coffee team at Rosslyn, from new team member training to ongoing skill development
- Share expertise on coffee origins, processing methods and roast profiles with both team and guests
- Identify individual team members' development needs and assist in creating personalised development plans in collaboration with your shop managers
- Support correct ordering, rotation and storage of coffee through knowledge of roast dates
Hospitality Towards Team and Guests
- Lead by example in creating a welcoming, positive atmosphere for both team members and guests
- Provide constructive feedback and recognition to team members in relation to both hospitality and coffee matters
- Support the shop-based leadership in ensuring every guest interaction reflects our values and commitment to hospitality-forward experiences
- Build relationships with suppliers and our wider coffee network by leading our well-recognised guest shifts where applicable
Compensation and Benefits
To represent the step-up in the role, becoming a Lead FOH Barista will mean you receive an enhanced hourly rate that continues to exceed LLW. Your working pattern will remain similar but with an emphasis on supporting the shop at peak trading times.
