About the Role
This role is for you if you truly care — about the craft, about your team, and about every guest who walks through the door. As a Lead FOH Barista at Rosslyn, you'll be a role model: leading on coffee quality, owning training and development, and helping create an environment where guests and colleagues alike feel genuinely looked after.
You'll work closely with the shop's leadership team and have real room to grow your own expertise along the way.
What You'll Be Doing
Hospitality
- Be a role model for your team — greet and serve guests with warmth and build the kind of rapport that keeps people coming back
- Bring your coffee knowledge to life for guests who want to learn more, and handle any difficult moments with care and confidence
- Have relationships with our suppliers and our wider coffee community, which includes hosting our well-loved pop-up guest shifts
Training & Development
- Deliver coffee training using Rosslyn's structured programme, from onboarding new starters to developing experienced baristas
- Coach your team on the floor — honestly, encouragingly, and consistently
- Spot individual development needs, build personalised plans with your Shop Manager, and contribute to SOPs that raise the bar for standards for your team
Operations
- Own coffee and drinks quality in your shop, and support those standards across Rosslyn
- Implement SOPs for brewing, dialling in and alternative drink preparation
- Manage your shop's coffee inventory — resting, rotation, storage and weekly ordering — and stay across the full menu, including guest coffees, pour-overs and retail
Service & Coffee
- Step confidently into any bar position, following SOPs across Opening, Drinks, Closing and Deep Cleaning
- Run regular quality checks and tastings, and be your team's go-to person for troubleshooting or educating
- Oversee daily equipment maintenance, coordinate repairs, train the team on proper care and monitor water quality
Teamwork & Environment
- Show up for your team — inclusively, supportively, and genuinely invested in their growth
- Stay active in team meetings and on top of internal communications
- Keep the shop clean and welcoming, and uphold all health & safety, food safety, allergen, HACCP and waste management standards every shift
