The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Configuration Technician (L2) on behalf of a leading IT services provider based in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous IT, EPOS, hardware configuration or deployment experience to join a busy operation supporting large-scale hospitality and retail projects.
This is a hands-on, warehouse-based position involving the configuration, testing and preparation of IT equipment for deployment throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Configure and test a wide range of IT hardware including laptops, tablets, servers, switches, routers, tills, kiosks and customer order displays.
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Carry out quality checks to ensure all equipment meets client specifications.
Prepare equipment for dispatch, including packaging and shrink-wrapping.
Pick and prepare orders from the warehouse for project deployment.
Load, unload and move IT equipment and pallets within the warehouse environment.
Assist with hardware cleaning, maintenance and equipment evaluations.
Manage workloads to meet project deadlines and schedules.Important Information About The Working Environment
This role is based within a busy warehouse and refurbishment operation and applicants should be aware that:
The role can be physically demanding.
Regular lifting, moving and handling of IT equipment is required.
Duties may include loading, unloading, wrapping and moving pallets.
Candidates will be required to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day.
There is a significant amount of manual handling involved.
The warehouse environment can be dusty at times due to the nature of the operation.
Suitable safety footwear must be worn.What We're Looking For
Previous experience in IT configuration, deployment, EPOS, staging or hardware build environments.
Good understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
Experience working with networking equipment and IT hardware.
Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Able to work efficiently within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
IT qualification (A-Level, College Course, BTEC or equivalent) advantageous.Why Apply?
