We’re looking for a Part Time Host to join the team at The Parakeet.
Located in the heart of Kentish Town, The Parakeet is an independent public house and dining room. In the front, a lively neighbourhood pub. In the back, an award-winning dining room serving Basque-inspired small plates cooked over coal and fire. Led by chef Ben Allen, the kitchen has received critical acclaim from The Times, The Evening Standard and more, and is recognised in the Michelin Guide. We work with exceptional seasonal produce from respected suppliers and cook with a real respect for craft.
But don’t just take our word for it:

As Host, you set the tone from the moment guests walk through the door. You’re the first welcome, the first impression, and a huge part of the experience people remember. You’ll manage the flow of the floor, greet guests with warmth and confidence, and help create a room that feels calm, cared for and well run.
This is a brilliant role for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys connecting with people and has an eye for detail. We’re looking for someone part time who wants to be part of a serious food-led team and help shape the energy of the room.
What you’ll do

• Manage reservations and support smooth flow of service across the dining room
• Seat and guide guests, setting the tone for the experience from the start
• Support the floor team with guest communication, table management and service flow
• Handle enquiries in person and on the phone with warmth and professionalism
• Help create a relaxed, polished and genuinely welcoming atmosphere
• Work closely with the restaurant team to ensure service feels seamless
What we’re looking for
• Experience in hosting, reception or front of house, or a strong interest in hospitality
• Great people skills and natural confidence with guests
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Calm, warm and composed under pressure
• A genuine love of restaurants and creating memorable guest experiences
• A positive, team-focused attitude
• Someone looking to grow and develop in hospitality
What to expect
• You’ll learn how a leading dining room runs, with a real focus on guest experience
• You’ll develop confidence managing reservations, flow and front door hospitality
• You’ll work alongside an experienced team with high standards and strong support
• You’ll be trusted with responsibility and given room to grow
Why you’ll love working with us

• Hero of the Month recognition, including a paid weekend off
• £50 voucher for top drinks seller incentives
• Employee referral bonuses of £1,000 for Chef or Manager roles and £250 for hourly roles
