Dr. Martens is more than a brand - it’s a global icon with over 60 years of attitude, heritage, and cultural impact. We’re a thriving, values‑driven business powered by diverse thinkers, bold doers, and people who bring their whole selves to work. If you’re ready to make your mark, you’re in the right place.
At DM, our values guide everything we do: Be Yourself, Act Courageously, Show You Care. They’re not just words - they’re how we turn passion into progress.
WHERE YOU SIT
As our Group Reporting Accountant, you’ll be part of the Group Finance team working closely with brilliant people across the business and reporting into Group Reporting Manager. You’ll be right at the heart of fast‑moving projects that shape how we show up for our consumers - today and tomorrow.
WHERE YOU CONTRIBUTE
The Group Reporting Accountant delivers high‑quality, timely Group financial reporting that underpins decision‑making across Dr. Martens. You lead key steps in the monthly consolidation, half‑year and full‑year external reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and consistency of segment/channel disclosures so leaders can steer performance with confidence and pace. In practice, that means turning complex market submissions into clear Group actuals, resolving intercompany differences, owning consolidation journals and disclosures, and being a go‑to partner for auditors and for finance colleagues across FP&A, Tax, and the business.
Your work directly enables the company’s growth ambitions by providing accurate, insight‑ready actuals by product/category and channel, improving visibility of full‑price versus markdown mix, and strengthening KPI discipline across the organisation (e.g., revenue, gross margin, EBIT, Opex). By helping standardise data, definitions and reporting timelines, you support a simpler operating model with globally aligned metrics and clear accountabilities.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
As our Group Reporting Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Producing key elements of the Group’s consolidated monthly reporting, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, ensuring accuracy, consistency and timely delivery.
- Preparing consolidation journals, manage intercompany eliminations and review regional submissions to ensure completeness and resolve issues ahead of close.
- Supporting statutory and IFRS reporting, including financial statement disclosures, subsidiary accounts and coordination with external auditors.
- Delivering technical accounting support across areas such as IFRS 16 leases and IFRS 2 share-based payments, ensuring accurate calculations and postings.
- Maintaining and enhance consolidation systems and controls, partnering cross-functionally to improve data quality, reporting insight and process efficiency.
KEY SKILLS & CAPABILITIES
Put simply, the key things we’re looking for are:
- Professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with experience in complex, multi-entity organisations and strong knowledge of IFRS consolidation and reporting.
- Strong systems and data capability, with hands-on experience in consolidation/EPM tools (e.g., OneStream) and ERP systems, and a disciplined, documentation-first approach.
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail, able to interrogate large multi-currency datasets, identify anomalies and drive root cause resolution.
- Effective communicator and collaborator, able to partner across Group Finance, markets and auditors, tailoring communication for finance and non-finance audiences.
- Well organised and delivery-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset to streamline processes, manage multiple deadlines and enhance reporting efficiency.
