Governance Officer Location: Hybrid. Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday Pay Rate: £14.03 per hour Contract: Temporary, duration 5 months (covering a secondment) We are currently recruiting for a Governance Officer to join a respected organisation in a varied and rewarding role supporting governance processes, compliance and effective decision making. This is an excellent opportunity for a diligent and organised individual who can take ownership of delegated tasks, manage them through from start to finish and contribute to robust governance and grant making processes. Duties will include: Responding to requests from internal and external stakeholders, providing a high standard of customer service Supporting governance bodies and committees through effective coordination and administration Organising and supporting meetings across the governance cycle, including preparing papers, collating documentation and coordinating logistics Supporting grant making and wider governance decisions through accurate information management and administration Maintaining compliance mechanisms and ensuring governance processes are followed effectively Reviewing and analysing documentation to support informed decision making Managing delegated tasks independently, seeing actions through from initiation to completion Providing support to non executive members carrying out governance responsibilities Working collaboratively across teams to support continuous improvement in processes and information management Taking initiative to resolve issues and contribute to problem solving activitieThe ideal candidate will have: Previous governance, compliance, administrative or public sector experience, or a genuine interest in governance and process driven work A diligent and methodical approach with strong attention to detail Ability to take ownership of delegated tasks and deliver them through to completion Experience or interest in governance processes and grant making decisions Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to analyse information and present it clearly and concisely Strong stakeholder management and customer service skills A flexible and collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvementIn return you can expect: A varied and meaningful role supporting an important function Opportunity to build experience within governance and compliance A supportive and collaborative working environment Weekly pay (PAYE)This role would suit someone who is organised, process driven and takes pride in seeing work through from start to finish.
