Job Vacancy: Production Operative
Location: Belper (with future relocation to Sutton-in-Ashfield)
Reporting To: Production Team Leader
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join. This role is key to the safe and efficient manufacture of silicone sealants and adhesive products within a heavy industrial production environment.
You will be responsible for accurately handling, measuring, and mixing both powdered and liquid chemical raw materials, while ensuring all production processes meet strict quality, safety, and environmental standards.
This is a hands-on role suited to individuals who are comfortable working in a physically demanding, "dirty" environment and who take pride in maintaining high standards of work.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture products in line with company safety, quality, and performance standards
Accurately measure, handle, and mix raw materials following production instructions
Operate mixing and processing equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain high levels of housekeeping in line with 5S standards
Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations, PPE requirements, and all site safety procedures
Minimise waste and ensure consistent product quality
Demonstrate reliability through strong attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct
Follow the Carlisle Operating System (COS) in all relevant tasks and activities
Work flexibly across AM/PM shifts where required

Requirements
Qualifications:
GCSEs (or equivalent)
Skills & Experience:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills and a professional, honest approach
Flexible and adaptable with a strong work ethic
Understanding of basic lean principles such as 5S and visual management (desirable)
