Constellation - Cleaner
Location: The Spires College – Westlands Ln, Torquay, Devon, TQ1 3PE
Employment Type: Shifts offered on casual bases between Monday to Friday
Constellation are currently recruiting reliable and hardworking Cleaners to join the team at The Spires College, a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in the coastal town of Torquay, Devon.

About the Role
As a Cleaner, you will play an important role in ensuring classrooms, communal areas, offices, and school facilities are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
The successful candidate will be dependable, organised, and committed to creating a positive environment that supports the daily running of the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily cleaning duties across classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, dining areas, and communal spaces
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and polish floors and surfaces
- Empty bins and dispose of waste correctly
- Replenish hygiene and cleaning supplies including soap, toilet rolls, and paper towels
- Clean touchpoints and high-traffic areas to maintain hygiene standards
- Ensure cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly
- Follow health & safety, COSHH, and cleaning procedures at all times
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or health & safety concerns
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the school site
- Work efficiently to complete cleaning schedules within allocated times
Essential Requirements
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Understanding of health & safety and hygiene procedures
- Ability to work in a busy school environment
Desirable Experience
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations
- Experience working within schools, education, healthcare, or public environments
