Class 2 Driver (Commercial Waste Collections) 📍 Tonbridge, Kent (TN9 1PP) 💷 £14.50 per hour (£15.20 after 12 weeks) ⏰ Full-Time | Monday to Friday 📅 Ongoing Temporary Assignment (Minimum 3 Months, Likely Longer) Immediate Start Available We are currently recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to join a well-established commercial waste operation in Tonbridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and professional driver looking for a long-term temporary role with consistent hours, guaranteed pay, and ongoing support. The Role As a Class 2 Driver, you will operate a rear-loader refuse vehicle, collecting commercial waste from a variety of customer sites across the local area. Following a comprehensive training period, most routes will be completed independently, making this an ideal role for drivers who enjoy working autonomously while delivering a high level of service. Key Responsibilities Driving a Class 2 rear-loader waste collection vehicle Collecting commercial waste from customer premises Emptying and manoeuvring bins ranging from 240L to 1100L Completing daily routes efficiently and safely Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting defects Adhering to all health and safety procedures Delivering excellent customer service at collection pointsTraining & Support Full PPE provided Full induction and site training 4-week buddy programme with an experienced driver Ongoing support from management and transport teamsHours & Pay Monday to Friday Start time: 4:00am Finish time: Approximately 2:00pm 45-minute unpaid break Guaranteed minimum of 8 hours paid per day Optional weekend overtime availablePay Rates £14.50 per hour Rising to £15.20 per hour after 12 weeksWhat We're Looking For Essential Requirements ✅ Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence ✅ Valid Driver CPC qualification ✅ Digital Tachograph Card ✅ Good understanding of UK driving regulations ✅ Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties ✅ Strong commitment to safety and compliance Desirable Previous waste, refuse, recycling, or commercial collection experience Experience driving rear-loader vehiclesNo waste industry experience?
