Catering Assistant – Weekday Work

Monday to Friday | Daytime Hours | Ongoing Opportunities

We’re looking for friendly, reliable and customer-focused Catering Assistants to join our teams across a range of business and workplace catering locations across Reading and Bracknell.

📍 Locations

• KPMG – Reading, RG1 3AD – Onsite restaurant, dining and hospitality facilities
• TD SYNNEX – Bracknell, RG12 8FZ – Onsite restaurant and café facilities
• Virgin Media – Reading, RG2 6UU – Staff restaurant and dedicated barista coffee shop
• Fujitsu – Bracknell, RG12 8SN – Onsite canteen, restaurant and café facilities

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll support all areas of the catering operation, from serving customers and operating tills to food service, food preparation, washing up and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

Typical shifts are around 8:00am – 2:30pm, although shift times may vary depending on the location.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing excellent face-to-face customer service
• Serving food and beverages in a friendly and professional manner
• Operating tills and handling customer transactions accurately
• Assisting with food preparation when required
• Replenishing food counters, displays and service areas
• Washing up pots, pans, crockery and kitchen equipment
• Keeping kitchen, dining and service areas clean and presentable
• Following Food Safety, Health & Safety, COSHH and allergen procedures
• Working collaboratively as part of a busy and professional catering team

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 6 months' catering experience
• Minimum 12 months' proven customer service experience
• Previous workplace, hospitality or contract catering experience is preferred
• Experience operating tills and serving customers is desirable
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A positive, professional and team-focused attitude
• Reliable, organised and able to work efficiently in a busy environment
• Flexible and willing to support across different areas of the catering operation

A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential.
