We are recruiting Female Care Assistants to join our Extra Care teams in Brighton. These are fixed‑location roles, meaning you work within one building supporting the same residents every day.
We are seeking carers for both Day Shifts and Waking Nights, with shift patterns discussed at interview.
About Our Extra Care Services
Patching Lodge Extra Care – Brighton
Patching Lodge is a modern extra care scheme comprising 76 one‑bedroom and 2two bedroom apartments, designed for residents over 55 with varying needs. It offers on‑site 24/7 care, communal lounge, cafe and restuarant open to the wider community, laundry, garden and residents’ activity spaces, and is known for its warm community and varied activities. The Extra care scheme is located in the Brighton close to public transport links, shops and seafront amenities.
The Role
As a Care Assistant working in Extra Care, you will support residents living independently in their own self‑contained apartments within the building. Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing personal care for female and male residents
- Supporting with medication
- Assisting with meals and hydration
- Encouraging independence, wellbeing and dignity
- Supporting residents with daily routines in a calm, structured environment
- Working as part of a supportive on‑site team
These roles provide stability, consistency and the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with residents—without the rushed travel associated with domiciliary care.

- Warm, compassionate and reliable individuals
- Experience welcome but not essential

- A genuine interest in older adults, including those with dementia
- Availability for day shifts or waking nights
